J.B. Pennington completed the 2016 season with a 8-3 record. With their 5-1 region record and a second place finish in Class 3A region six, the Tigers earned a spot in the playoffs in 2016. J.B. Pennington's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Randolph County by a score of 28-6. The Tigers improved in 2016 with their first winning season since 2007. Their 42.0% winning percentage ranks 39th in Class 3A and 264th in the AHSAA. The Tigers are led by head coach Todd Cassity who is entering his third season at the helm.
